Roachdale -- Sterling Hollis Pickel, 66, died Thursday morning at the home of his brother, Gayle Pickel, at Carpentersville where he had lived in recent years. He was born Nov 17, 1903 in Putnam County, a son of David and Mary Hollis Pickel. He was married in 1936 to Nellis Schmith at Indianapolis. Survivors include two other sons, Clifford of Roachdale and John of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Lucille Major of Crawfordsville; two sons, Jeff Jerry of Indianapolis and Jimmy of Phoenix and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Perkins Funeral Home here. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today.
